Making Chinese Dumplings by yourself

Chinese dumpling is one of the most important foods in Chinese New Year. Since the shape of Chinese dumplings is similar to ancient Chinese gold or silver ingots, they symbolize wealth. Traditionally, the members of a family get together to make dumplings during the New Year's Eve. They may hide a coin in one of the dumplings. The person who find the coin will likely have a good fortune in the New Year. Dumplings also have other implication, which means everything goes smoothly. If you eat dumplings on the first day of Chinese New Year, you will have good luck for your career, your family, your health the whole coming year! If you eat dumplings before you go on a trip, you will have a pleasant and safe trip.

To thank for the support of our residents to the management office. We will a hold Chinese dumpling activity at maple place. A professional cooking teacher from Neighborhood Chinese Language Center will be invited to give us a speech of Chinese dumpling culture and folk stories, and he will teach us how to make different Chinese dumplings. Chinese Dumplings will be a most delicious dish on your dinning table during Chinese new year!
